The moon is the face of our solar system that gives us light and helps us navigate to and through our stars. It’s also the largest object found in our universe and the brightest object in the night sky.

If you look closely at the moon, you will also see the planets. The moon has a much larger gravitational pull when compared to the other planets. It also has a much bigger surface than Earth, so it has more mass. The solar system is made up of the sun, the moon, and the planets.
The moon is the largest and most massive object in the solar system. The other planets, though small and fluffy, are the only objects that are not made of a solid material. Like the moon, the planets have the most gravitational pull of the solar system. The sun, moon, and planets all orbit the center of the galaxy, the Milky Way galaxy.
This image (above) really has a lot to do with how we experience the night sky. The dark, starless night sky (the sky where our eyes are able to see objects) is only visible up to 8 degrees away. So the moon is a little dimmer than the sun, which is why the sky is so dark (and why telescopes are used to provide the most detail).
It’s actually not that dark at all. In fact, the night sky is actually very bright because almost all of the stars are in the Milky Way galaxy, which means it is surrounded by millions and millions of stars. The Milky Way galaxy is so thick that most of the stars we see are only 8 light-years away.
That’s why telescopes are needed because they magnify any objects that are visible, whether that be a star or galaxy. The fact that we can see the moon with naked eyes despite it being a light year away is because it’s so close to the Earth. It’s actually similar to how a telescope magnifies an object if it’s directly in front of you.
This is why the moon is so bright to the naked eye, but it is incredibly faint to our eyes even with telescopes. Astronomers use a different kind of telescope called the radio telescope that uses radio waves to create images of the sky. A radio telescope is literally the same thing as an ordinary telescope, but instead of just looking at the stars, they can look at the radio waves that are bouncing off the Earth.
The radio telescope is actually a larger one that is capable of looking at the moon and other celestial bodies with much greater resolution than a telescope. The radio telescope is the only way to look at the earth, moon, and other celestial bodies with the resolution that you might find with a telescope, and it is also a way to look into the very depths of the universe.
