I think it is because we are so damn busy. On Earth, the planets are so busy that there is hardly time for any of the things that make our planet so lovely. But there is no such thing as too much work.

There will be days when the planets will seem like they are on holiday, but with so much to deal with it is not a day worth going out of our way to enjoy. But on Mars, the planets have never been so busy as they are right now.
