This was my first experience at the moon’s dark side. The totality lasted less than a half an hour, which was the longest eclipse I had experienced to that point. I wanted to experience it again, so I decided to go to the eclipse viewing area at the Virginia Aquarium in Virginia Beach, Virginia. It was an overcast day, so I didn’t know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised.
The sun was completely covered in a beautiful green eclipse, so the sky was quite dark. The ocean was so calm, with very little waves on the shore, so I spent the majority of my time watching the sun slowly go through the dark eclipse. There was no problem with the sun being obscured by the moon, so I was able to see the eclipse all the way until it reached totality. I was also able to see the moon, which was completely in the dark.
