I’ve always wondered why it is that the sky is so blue. The theory is that the Earth is made of an assemblage of billions of small spheres rather than a single sphere. The blue of the sky is the result of the Earth’s atmosphere being so thin that the blue light is scattered out and so many of the stars are obscured.
The reason is probably because the Earth’s atmosphere is composed of 95% of water vapour, and the atmosphere is so thin that very little of the blue light is scattering out. So if you’re really lucky, you might get a view of the starry sky through the air, as I did.
The blue of the sky is what makes the photo beautiful, but the actual sky is often just a greenish-grey fog. The reason being that the Earths atmosphere is very thick and the blue light is scattered out. Our atmosphere is made of 99.999% water vapour which makes the blue light slightly less blue. So we have a beautiful photo, but the actual sky is greenish grey.
